I have taken on a rather “Negative Nelly-type” attitude lately. I'm not fond of it. SO, I decided to take a more lighthearted approach this morning, focusing on a few fabulous things in my life. . . I betcha you can appreciate some of these things too! So. . . In no particular order:
NUMBER 1:Β BACON! Because, well, bacon. π Whether it be cooked until crispy, or still a little chewy, it is pure deliciousness. Peppered bacon. Jalapeno bacon. Candied bacon. Plain ol' bacon. Um, preferably not turkey bacon, though. Okay? We don't need that blasphemy up in here. . . This morning, I had a few slices with a bit of last night's leftovers. Voila! Breakfast. Boom! Done.
NUMBER 2:Β Coffee. Also known as “The Elixir of Life.” Okay. Maybe I made that part up. BUT, it is a crucial part of my morning. Without it, I would, undoubtedly sleep until noon, guaranteeing that I get nothing done. It is motivation in a cup, I tell you! Piping hot, strong, & black. How do you drink yours?
NUMBER 3:Β A handsome husband that not only busts his ass to support us, but who also remembers to take the recycling to the curb well before the thought enters my mind! Every Monday morning, this seems to happen. I panic & rush to take it out, only to realize he's already done it. I need to trust in the handsomeness that is husband. π
NUMBER 4:Β Our router. It's simple, really. Without that little baby, things like blogging & email & Facebook would be so much harder! Seriously. Say it with me: “Wi-Fi.” This is, like, my social life at this particular juncture. The connection to the outside world. Don't scoff. It's true. And, it's okay.
NUMBER 5:Β Pedicures. They are one of those little things that consistentlyΒ & simultaneously relax me AND make me smile. I mean, think about it: Not only do you get to soak your feet in a Heavenly little foot jacuzzi, but you also get to sit in a blissfully comfortable massage chair for something close to an hour. As a perk, at the end of it all, you walk away on pretty feet. LOVE! (As an added perk, on that same visit,Β I usually remedy the uni-brow that God gave me. . . But forget about that little tidbit. Mmmmm-kay?)
And there you have it. Five things to smile about on this beautiful Monday. . .Β Or whatever day it is that you're reading this, I suppose. ‘Cause who wouldn't smile about these things, regardless of the day of the week?! What would YOU add to this list? Leave me a comment below. Pretty please? π
My only addition at this time is friends. Though far away, never far from my heart. I think of you often and miss you terribly but I know you are where you and hubby need to be. I would love to come down sometime to see my domesticated friend. Love you lots! Keep writing. β‘β₯β‘β₯
Yes! Absolutely. Positively. FRIENDS. Without a doubt, I would’ve gotten sappy & deep had I added that one though. . . I love you too. Thank you so much.
I love to dine out so dining out makes me happy! I am low maintenance =)
That’s definitely one of my favorite things to do too! π
Bacon yes, but definitely crisp! Coffee no. Husbands and routers – YES! Pedicures – never had one : ) It is great to have a positive attitude.
Haha, Machelle! The handsome husband would DEFINITELY agree with you. . . Pretty much ALL the way through that statement! LOL.
I enjoyed this post. With all the riff raff of everyday life, we all need to take a minute and remember all those things that make us smile. Bacon and my husband def make me smile. π
That’s EXACTLY the idea, Krystal! Thank you for taking a moment to SMILE with me! π
I love that number 1 is bacon, haha. Cute post! π
Teehee. Thank you, Angelica! π
I love this. Today has been a challenging day – you’ve reminded me to come up with 5 reasons of my own π
That is FABULOUS to hear, Audra!!! THAT makes me smile! π
I like one out of five.
BUT I love you so that’s okay!
Lol. Um. . . The router? π I love you too.
I love your five things and gave me the chuckle of the day.
Oh, good! Mission accomplished! Thank you. π
Ahh! What a happy post. I loved your 5 things. π
Haha. Thank you! I needed something light-hearted too.
Talking to Chase (my son) about his day always makes me smile. Since he was in elementary school he always tells us crazy stories about school and dramatically acts scenes out for us. It’s hillarious and it the stories get better the older he gets – he’s perfecting his acting skills. π
Awww. That is DEFINITELY something to add to the list! Smile-worthy FOR SURE, Manda!
I love your list!!
My 5 things right now:
1) COFFEE. I would not survive without it!
2) Wine. Because, well, it’s wine and I have 2 boys under the age of 4 π
3) My boys. Most of the time anyways, hahaha!
4) Facebook because I have no life!
5) Cheese. I.LOVE.Cheese.
Haha! I love YOUR list! I get it all! π Well, I am mildly lactose intolerant. . . BUT, cheese is STILL delicious stuff. π
Making me smile is
1. Seeing my daughter plant flowers with daddy
2. Skittle jelly beans!
3. Grass getting greener
4. Kids who complain about dinner less
5. My son’s upcoming birthday
I love it, Jessica! Especially #1. . . I bet watching your daughter interact with her daddy is pretty awesome, regardless of the activity. . . π
Ug, this negative miserable curmudgeon doesn’t waaaant to smile!
But if I had to pick something: chocolate, and ice cream, and chocolate ice cream.
Also wifi is a definite plus! π
LOL. Jenn, I have been on an ice cream kick lately too. . . DEFINITELY something to smile about! And, the Wi-Fi? A given!!! π
I’ve had a crazy few months but without fail my 2-year-old can make me smile. Even just thinking about him makes me smile. He reminds me to slow down and appreciate little things. π
I bet, Kara! Everyone should take a moment to slow down enough to see the world through a two-year-old’s eyes every now & then. . . It IS quite special.
Besides my relationship with God and my husband, my 5 boys are 5 things for me to smile about! My thankful list could go on and one…but those are my TOPS! π
Awww. . . FIVE boys!! Your hands are full, as are your blessings. I love it! π
