Life feels like it has been EXTRA chaotic lately. I've been through hard times before, but this time around feels like an extra blow to the gut. I don't even know how else to put it. I was feeling pretty darn good about myself & where I was back in, say, November, but by the end of that month, things changed drastically. As a result, it has taken a lot of effort to figure out how to get through hard times all over again.Read More »How to Get Through Hard Times
I always thought Lent was something observed only by Catholics. I consider myself a non-denominational Christian. So, imagine my surprise when the pastor at my new church mentioned an optional six-week Lent study in which we could participate if we chose. Um, what?! So, yeah. I had to ask myself: Really, what is Lent?Read More »What is Lent?
A couple of months ago, my grandmother was diagnosed with small cell lung cancer. Incurable. Inoperable. It hit us HARD. All of a sudden, EVERYTHING felt like it was too much to handle. I felt stretched too thin to deal with all of my responsibilities.
I know that is a natural response to such news. But, in reality, when I am honest with myself, I was feeling stretched too thin even before Grandma's diagnosis. That's the cold hard truth… & I really don't like it.Read More »Are You Stretched Too Thin?
The problem with wishing is that it gets you nowhere. It keeps you idle, stuck in your head, constantly daydreaming. The problem with wishing is that it doesn't really spur action. It keeps you longing, always wanting, forever doomed to be dissatisfied.
“You can wish in one hand & shit in the other & see which one fills up faster.”
My husband pessimistically says this more often than I'd prefer. I cringe every time. It sounds so stinkin' BLEAK, doesn't it? Those words strung together are piercing to me, hope shattering — frankly, harsh.Read More »The Problem with Wishing

To me, the word has incredible meaning. I normally think very literally — &, believe it or not, despite having an online community & business built all around CONFIDENCE, my default action, nine times out of ten, involves extremely negative self-talk & a very lowly view of myself. This is my reality: constantly figuring out how to get out of a funk.
But, UNSTOPPABLE means that I do not let that define my existence or my potential or my RESULTS.
UNSTOPPABLE means that I focus on my ACTIONS instead of results & constantly squash the negativity I encounter, both in my own mind and in the world around me.
Here's the thing:
My obstacles are unique TO ME, but I am firmly convinced that there are MANY out there who experience, or have experienced, at least some version of much of what I have, but, for whatever reason, keep it hidden from the world &/or are afraid, ashamed, or embarrassed to share their stories.Read More »What Does It Mean to Be UNSTOPPABLE?

I have been in your shoes. For many of you, in fact, I can honestly say I am currently walking a very similar path! But, direct sales friends, here's the deal: we can do better!
I get it. Direct sales is HARD. It takes strength & courage we didn't even know we had & requires us to learn & grow. We set ourselves up for rejection & perceived failure every single day! I know how embarrassing that can be… & how anxious you can get trying to reach a goal or just prove to everyone around you that your decision to start your little business wasn't a huge mistake.
The problem is that so many of us are doing the same things, day in & day out, expecting (or hoping for) some major success story, but, really, our friends, particularly online, are fed up. They don't want to be sold to. People, conveniently, don't respond to your messages &, even if they just commented on a post about your cute daughter or your dinner from last night, they “happen” to not see your extremely promotional post about whatever special your company has going on that they just MUST see…Read More »An Open Letter to Direct Sales Friends
